A July 2024 Gallup study has highlighted a concerning uptick in employee turnover, marking its highest point since 2015. According to the study, 51% of U.S. employees are actively seeking new job opportunities or keeping an eye out for them.
â The study also reveals that many employees who left their jobs in the past year felt their departure could have been avoided. Specifically, 42% of these employees believed that their employer or manager could have taken steps to change their decision.
â A critical factor contributing to this turnover is a breakdown in communication. Surprisingly, 36% of employees who voluntarily left their jobs did not discuss their decision with anyone before leaving. Even among those who did mention their intention to leave, 44% only 1 out of 2 workers are watching or actively seeking new employment according to a new Gallop Pole.
â Commitment of workers is at its lowest point in 9 years.
Estimate of leadership and manager replacement cost of 200 % of salary. Technical and professional 80%. Front Line Workers- 40 %.
â When an employee decides to leave an organization, they land a new role in 1-3 months. The top two reasons some leaves continue to be compensation/ benefits and positive interactions with their manager.
